Sweet Pongal

Ingredients

Health Sutra Jowar/Multimillet/Yellow Jowar Upma Rawa -1/2 cup*
Moong dal (without skin) ½ cup
Jaggery ½ cup (grated or powder)
Water 3 cups + ¼ cup
Cardamom powder 1 pinch
Ghee 2 to 3 Tablespoon
Cashews 8 (broken)
Raisins – 6
Edible camphor small pinch (optional)

Recipe

Wash and soak moong dal for 30minutes
Put Health Sutra Upma rawa and drained moong dal in a pressure cooker. Pour 3 cups water and stir
Close pressure cooker lid and cook for 3 whistles on low to medium ame.
In a separate pan, mix jaggery with ¼ cup water and heat on low ame and keep stirring till jaggery dissolves in water. Turn off heat and let it cool
In a seasoning pan, heat ghee on low ame and fry cashews and raisins. After turning off the stove, add camphor if you wish to
After pressure is down, open pressure cooker lid, slightly mash pongal and add jaggery syrup to it
Mix and cook pongal on low to medium ame till jaggery mixes well and starts to bubble
Add cardamom powder and turn off the heat. Add the fried cashews and raisins
Tasty Sweet Pongal is ready
